Sean Packard has established himself as a versatile and dependable saxophonist in the greater Chicago area, performing and recording regularly with funk, hip-hop, jazz, blues, and rock bands. Sean attended DePaul University’s School of Music where he received a degree in Performing Arts Management and had the opportunity to study with Mark Colby, Bob Lark, Dana Hall, Tom Matta, Ron Perillo, and Bob Palmieri.
Sean has shared the stage with jazz icons Phil Woods, Jimmy Heath, Jeff Hamilton, and Benny Golson, and was fortunate enough to record alongside Phil Woods and Jeff Hamilton during his time at DePaul. Sean has performed with Nasty Snacks, The Chicago Players, BoneLang, Bumpus, B.S. Brass Band, J-Livi and the Party, Bassel and the Supernaturals, The Right Now, Too White Crew, and Hey Jimmy, among others. Along with a busy performance career, Sean has also assisted with concert production at Evanston SPACE and the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.
Sean works on the marketing team at DANSR, Inc., the U.S. importer for Vandoren and Denis Wick musical products, where he oversees e-marketing strategy for the brands. Sean’s responsibilities include coordinating content creation and publication, social media management and advertising, email campaigns, and web/graphic design. Sean enjoys figuring out the most effective and engaging combination of videos, articles, photos, and posts to represent a brand online to its full potential. Check out Sean’s resume
